We got Ian up Thursday morning and he was covered in a rash from head to toe. We had his 18mo well child visit scheduled on Friday so when we called them about his rash, they said they’d do his check up then….Ian’s rash seems to have been caused by the fever and vomiting that he had earlier in the week. The doctor and nurse felt it was a reaction to the virus that he had and it would go away on its own. (UPDATE: it did go away on its own!)
Ian got measured for height at 35inches (over the 95th percentile) and was taken out to the scale in the hallway to measure his weight. He started to throw a fit because he didn’t want to stand on the regular scale so he had to go on the baby scale. He weighed in at 25lbs 2oz (under the 50th percentile).
The fit he threw in the hallway continued on back in the examining room and for the duration of the visit. He did not, under any circumstances, want to be in the examining room and wasn’t afraid to let the world know it. It was pretty convenient because they were a little backed up and we had to sit in the examining room for a good 20mins waiting for the doctor to see us. All the while, major temper tantrum is going on. We’re talking red-faced fury, surf-board body, I’m mad as hell temper tantrum.
Needless to say, it was a really fun office visit. 🙂
