I have about a 2-3 hour break before I’m expected to show up for a pre-dinner reception and several hour dinner….I thought I’d spend it blogging about my trip down to the Nemacolin resort.
(Please excuse the quality of the pictures, I took them from my phone.)
I picked up my coworker from her hotel room at 11:45am on Sunday and headed to my boss’s house. From there, we loaded up his car and drove down to PA.
The boss getting ready to back out of his driveway:
After a 5hr, completely uneventful drive, we pulled onto the grounds of the resort. This is the view of the building I’m staying in as we pulled up:
My parent company arranged the hotel reservations for all of the employees. Unbeknownst to me, they reserved the club level (5th floor, penthouse-type rooms) for all of the women. The club level benefits include a private floor (you have to have a special key to access the floor in the elevator), in room check-in service from your butler, around-the-clock butler service and a private lounge on the floor that is constantly stocked with food and beverages.
I was pretty impressed with all of that to begin with and then was BLOWN-A-WAY. when I saw my room.
I have a full-fledged suite – a bedroom and full sized living area. I think my suite is probably just about the same size as our entire apartment that we used to live in. I have a full bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower as well as a full sized jetted tub. And in the living room area, I have a powder room. And 2 chandeliers!
Bedroom (there’s a little desk off to the side):
Full bathroom (my pictures DEFINITELY do not do it just justice):
(There are actually 2 sinks/vanities and the mirror above them is probably 6ft wide and 4ft tall! It takes up the whole wall!)
This is the private lounge last night after dinner:
It also has a roof-top deck that I didn’t take pictures of – too dark.
The lounge was stocked with liquor for the guests!
The floor is absolutely littered with chandeliers and artwork. Apparently there is about $2.5M worth of art on my floor alone.
This is the lobby area to get to my room:
And, to wrap up the tour…the landing strip directly outside my room (I took this from my private balcony):
