On July 1st, Ian had his last tball game for the season.
Posing for me, before the game:
His first at-bat of the game:
Safe at first (Mike was the 1st base coach):
Getting ready to run home:
Prepping for his second at-bat:
It’s a hit:
(The ball is right where the metal fence poles cross near the green shirt dude’s left shoulder.)
Playing in the dirt:
Ready to make a play:
Papaw and Matthew:
Daddy and Matthew:
Papaw and Matthew again:
Ian on deck for his last at-bat:
Going in:
Last at-bat:
He hit it!
He was the last batter for the inning so he got to end his first season by getting a “home run” (they let the last batter of each inning run all the bases):
Potty break!
Post-game huddle:
“GO REDSOX!!!”
Team picture:
Front row: Jacob, Vincent Z., Vincent I.
Back row: Thomas, Ian, Alexander, Matthew, Luke
Throwing their hats in the air in celebration:
The boys tackling Coach after a short chase around the field:
Coach telling the boys how proud he was and what a good job they did:
And the Holy Grail of tball season, the snack shack token distribution:
We missed the big, end-of-season party with the rest of the team because we were on vacation in Indiana. Ian’s coach was kind enough to stop over at our house to give Ian his trophy in person. Ian was BEYOND excited to have a trophy and promptly put it in a place of honor on his dresser. 🙂
I really like these pictures!!!
