Matthew’s 5th birthday fell on a really hectic day for us. It was his last day of school and Ian had his last golf lesson of the season that night. Since we didn’t want Ian to miss his last night of golf, Ian went with Mike to golf while I took Matthew out for a birthday dinner with my parents and sister.
We told the server that it was Matthew’s birthday and they brought him an ice cream sundae and a balloon. He was so excited about it.
Afterward, we went home to wait for Ian and Mike and then we continued the birthday festivities with them.

The endless birthday festivities continued on in the Outer Banks when we had a party for both Nick and Matthew. And then a couple weeks after we got home from vacation, we had a friends party for Matthew. I’ll blog those later.
The next day, Matthew had his 5 year well child visit. Here are his stats:
- Height: 44.57″ (83rd percentile)
- Weight: 42lbs 5oz (63rd percentile)
The visit was pretty uneventful and he doesn’t go back until he turns 6!
