Easter morning, Ian slept in till almost 8am. Mike and I were actually sitting around watching TV waiting for him to wake up. This might not sound like a big deal but you have to understand that its rare for Ian to sleep past 6:30am. 🙂

Since Ian needed my help getting down the stairs and starting the egg hunt, I only have pictures about mid-way through. And, due to perfect timing, my memory card was full so I could only take 3 pictures.

So, here’s what I have from Easter:

We weren’t sure how well he’d understand the whole egg hunt process so we left the eggs out in the open. He did really great and sometimes needed help finding the ones were a little more hidden…

When Ian got down to the living room, he put the basket on the coffee table…he brought all the eggs TO the basket:

Easter basket…took him forever to “find” it because he was so focused on the eggs. He was literally standing next to it before he realized what he was looking at. This was the moment when he finally noticed it for the first time!

We totally went overboard on his Easter basket but there were a few things I really wanted to get him and I just used Easter as an excuse. Each purchase was pretty well planned and we don’t really have any more gift giving opportunities for Ian until Christmas. That’s the result of having all the gift-giving occassions (Christmas, birthday and Easter) all within 3-4 months of each other.

-Cars ball: total impulse purchase, I admit it. 🙂

-Leap Frogs Word Wammer: $10 purchase that Ian loves as he LOVES letters….he’s not yet into spelling words but he’ll grow into that aspect of the toy.

-Numbers puzzle: Ian is really into wooden puzzles AND reading numbers so this was a hit….will work for a long time b/c he can only “read” 1-6. Should help him learn 0, 7-20.

-Stroller & diaper bag: Ian got a baby doll for his 2nd birthday (from Aunt Courtney) so that when the new baby arrives, he has a baby to take care of. We’re hoping having his own baby will help with jealousy issues. The stroller and diaper bag were ways to help him become more interested and understand a little bit better. We have been practicing being gentle and giving kisses. Sunday, he was giving the baby some “nilk” (milk) w/ the play bottles. And then there was about a 15-20 min period where he raced the stroller/baby around the house.

Funny, out of all the things we got him, the stroller was the biggest hit. I totally expected the ball to get all of the attention while the rest of the toys were ignored. Just goes to show, you never really know what they’re going to like!

We had Grammy and Papaw Jones over for breakfast Easter morning…then took naps. Then went to the Nowak’s for dinner. It was a really nice Easter!

I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A HAPPY EASTER!
