…we decided to wander our hotel. Since we were just staying in the building, I didn’t put sunscreen on. Of course, about 10.5 seconds after we got to the casino floor we changed our mind and promptly went out on the strip wearing flip flops and no sunscreen. Needless to say, our first visit to the strip was short and sweet in order to avoid blisters, sun stroke and sun burn.
Our main purpose in going out was to find food. It was roughly 10am Vegas time but it felt like 1pm NY time. We were STARVING. We walked over to the Venetian to check out their food court and took a few pictures along the way.
The canal winding through the shops at the Venetian
The walk-way into the Palazzo from the Venetian- There were clear glass “things” hanging down between the umbrellas and a light would run down them from top to bottom. From a distance it looked like rain. It was really cool and unfortunately, the pictures don’t do it justice.

After this, we headed back to the hotel. It was really hot out and the lack of sunscreen was starting to be an issue. We went back to the hotel for a short nap…please remember that we were up at 4:30am NY time and had sat through a 5 hour flight. We were very tired!
After our naps, we had dinner at a fabulous Mexican restaurant inside Treasure Island and then went to see our show back at the Mirage. After the show, we wandered the strip at night….but that’s another post for another day. 🙂
