We took the boys shoe shopping Saturday afternoon. Matthew needed more fall/winter appropriate shoes and Ian’s toes were pretty much crammed in his sneakers.

We took Matthew to Stride Rite to get his first pair of good shoes. I initially was leaning towards getting him the plain white boot Ian had when he started walking. When we got there, we decided to get him a sneaker instead.

Here’s the shoe we got for him:

They’re very light-weight and washable! Matthew’s shoe is a size 5.5 WIDE!

Next we went down to Payless to get Ian some sneakers. Since he’s been growing so fast and doesn’t need a special size, it seemed silly to pay Stride Rite’s prices for his shoes.

Ian got a pair of sneakers similar to the ones he already has. Apparently he loves them a lot because he was soooo excited to get these:

Ian’s shoe is a size 11. By the way, that officially takes him out of “toddler” sizes and moves him into “youth”. Good grief, he’s got big feet!

After shoe shopping, we went home, had dinner, played for a bit before bedtime and Matthew and I took the time to take some pictures for my 52 weeks project.

Like this outtake? He was in the process of sticking his tongue out…a boy after my own photo-ruining heart. 🙂
