I won a free mini-session with a local photographer earlier in the year.  We met up on Memorial Day weekend and got some cute family shots.  I think we might set up a full session with him later this year.

I think this one is my favorite. 🙂

And an outtake!

I bought a trifle dish maybe a year or two ago to use mostly for decoration on the buffet in our dining room.  I keep meaning to use it to make a dessert but didn’t get around to it until Memorial Day when I made this dessert for a cookout that we were hosting.  It was super easy to make, looked awesome, and tasted great.  I’m going to have to make trifles more often. 🙂

In May, the Cub Scouts celebrated a school year of good behavior by having a swimming party at one of the local YMCAs.  After swimming for an hour, we moved upstairs for pizza, cake, and some bingo!

This YMCA facility is only about a year old. The zero depth entry on this pool was great for the younger kids.

Getting some instructions from the lifeguards

All of the kids had to show the lifeguards that they could walk or swim across the deep end before the swimming could start.

As a parent of not-yet-swimmers, swimming parties are an extremely stressful experience. With this many boys in the pool, it was nearly impossible to keep an eye on Ian which was a bit scary.

Half-hearted smiles because they didn’t want the swimming portion of the party to end. Meanwhile, Mike and I were celebrating the fact that the boys didn’t drown. Woo!!!!

PIZZA!!!!

BINGO! Ian won a round which caused a lot of drama with Matthew. LOL

Walking over the bridge and becoming a Bear!

With his new badge and his gold arrow. If I remember correctly, he is owed 2 silver arrows as well. He completed more tasks that any other boy in his Cub Scouts pack.

Matthew typically sleeps in such a sweet position.  He usually has his baby blanket pulled down around his head, with his hands under his cheek, legs curled up into his belly.  When we find him like this, Mike and I always refer to him being an “angel baby” because it is such a contrast to the crazy kid that he is when he’s awake.  LOL

One night in May, I found Matthew in a very different position.  Mike was out of town so I snapped this picture with my phone with the comment “not so angel baby tonight”. LOL

How do you even fall asleep in this position?!?!
